Brown Rot on Cherry Trees
Right now symptoms of this fungal disease are very visible on cherry trees, especially flowering varieties. Wet, humid weather allows these fungi to thrive and cause these tell-tale blossom blights (flowers appear melted), drooping, browning leaves and twig cankers.
There is not an organic anti fungal treatment available so if you notice these symptoms you’ll want to give these trees some extra care. Remove fallen infected leaves to slow the re-infection cycle. Check moisture levels - overwatering is your enemy in this state! Consider fertilization to help stressed trees recover and put out healthy, new growth. Our compost tea is perfect for this!
