Fall is Here, Time to Fertilize

Why now?
Taking the time to fertilize in the fall will strengthen roots going into winter, giving plants a strong base on which to thrive next spring. Now is the last chance to fertilize before the ground freezes.

As the leaves begin to fall and the tops of the trees slow down, the underground parts become active to prepare for next year. After our compost tea treatment, the added nutrients will still be in the soil come spring when plants start to grow.

“Mycorrhizae and root hairs are abundant and active in winter. Our tree concept must be expanded to include these facts.”

-Dr. Alex L. Shigo
