VIDEO Field Report: Bagworm

A reminder to check for Bagworm, they are actively feeding in late summer Long Island!

Bagworms are known to infest a variety of plants including evergreens like junipers, arborvitae, spruces, and pines, as well as deciduous trees like maples, oaks, and sycamores. They can even sometimes be found on shrubs such as boxwood and rose bushes.

Bagworms construct distinctive spindle-shaped bags from silk and bits of foliage, which they attach to branches as they feed and grow. An infestation can spread very quickly if left untreated and can defoliate whole hedges once their numbers grow.

Remove by hand when practical and call us to take care of the rest!
